THE QUINCEAñERA TRADITION
A quinceañera celebration is a traditional Hispanic rite of passage marking a young woman's transition from girlhood to adulthood. It's a festive gathering of friends and family that includes music, food, ceremony and - especially in this case - dancing.
On Sunday, September 24th, we celebrated our kind, curious, creative, intelligent and resilient Lola Belle Shumow stepping into her fullness as a young woman in today's world.
We are honored that so many of you - the family and friends that have brought her to this moment - joined us for an exuberant celebration.
THE VENUE
The Beach House
The Civitan Beach House is a historic facility built in 1937 right on the beach near St. Petersburg, along Florida's Gulf Coast. All proceeds from their event rentals go towards furthering the mission of the St. Petersburg Civitan Foundation, which aims to meet their community's needs with a particular emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities.
